"A Bowl of Warm Cilok, a Pleasure that Warms the Heart and Stomach"

Jakarta- Cilok, one of Indonesia's traditional specialties precisely in the Java archipelago, namely West Java, has been known to the world, with its taste and practicality making cilok easy for customer to make independently. Cilok, which stands for "aci dicolok" in Sundanese, are balls of tapioca flour cooked/steamed in hot water and served with peanut sauce or chili sauce. However, cilok has now become more than just street food.

In recent years, culinary vendors in Indonesia have taken inspiration from the traditional cilok and presented it in various interesting variants. Cilok now comes in various forms such as adding chicken as an additional ingredient and also chocolate tofu in which there is cilok dough to fill the void of the chocolate tofu, a variant of this form used by "cilok bunda kim", and also a thick red chili sauce mixed with sweet soy sauce that makes it different from other cilok.

In addition, the uniqueness of the food offered by "cilok bunda kim" is made by the seller himself, starting from chicken cilok, stuffed tofu, and also the special sauce that makes cilok more famous. In selling cilok it is still very simple, located in front of the lion air package shop or in front of the owner's house gate, using a red cart coupled with a coffee shop.

In an interview with one of the visitors of "cilok bunda kim", Mrs. syahna, she said, "Since I knew there was cilok bunda kim here, about 2 years ago and I like this food because of its good texture and soft taste, and the chewy chicken flavor. The chocolate tofu is also crispy and the cilok filling is also plentiful. And one more thing that makes this cilok perfect is the sambal that gives the cilok a savory taste."

Therefore, cilok culinary has a lot of fans and also creates new variations for consumers. One of them is at the "cilok bunda kim" shop which offers chewy chicken cilok and also crispy chocolate tofu and thick red chili sauce that makes the taste delicious. Summarize: Stories with photographs are much more likely to be read than stories without photographs, and the larger the photograph, the greater the likelihood that the story package will attract the attention of the reader. This unit will concentrate on photo selection, photo editing and cropping, as well as writing captions for publication. Many scholastic staffs are making the transition from traditional darkroom photography to digital photography, while others are opting to continue with film cameras. This unit will take up with the process after the photos are processed, whether in the darkroom or digitally, but will focus primarily on digital photo editing since so many publications are being submitted to the printer on disk, ftp uploading or through e-mail. The technical how-tos of photo preparation are far too complex to get into in one unit of a journalism textbook, and there are so many different types of software available that it would be impossible to get into how they all work. So the focus will be more on the results you will want to achieve, and we’ll leave the technical Photographs used for journalistic purposes must tell a story as well as being visually appealing. While mug shots or small head and shoulders shots may help a reader understand who an article is about, it is the large action shots which will draw readers into the story package and serve as an entry point into the story. According to a landmark 1991 study by the Poynter Institute called “Eyes on the News”, eyetracking was used to study the movement of readers’ eyes across a newspaper page.

Reflection : Using photographs to write captions is a powerful way to enhance storytelling and evoke emotions. Captions serve as windows into the visual narrative, providing context, depth, and a deeper understanding of the captured moment. When carefully crafted, captions have the ability to transport the viewer beyond the frame, unraveling hidden layers and inviting them to engage with the image on a more personal level. They can breathe life into still images, adding voices, perspectives, and insights that may otherwise go unnoticed. Crafting captions requires a delicate balance of descriptive details, emotional resonance, and concise storytelling, creating a seamless fusion of words and visuals that leaves a lasting impact on the audience.
